Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit alternatives in 2026: an honest comparison with prices read today

By Anil Sayar, founder of Promvia

Published

In short

Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit costs $99 a month for 25 tracked prompts checked daily, with Semrush's prompt database and reports around them; the alternatives are worth a look when 25 prompts or one engine per campaign is the limit. SE Visible gives 200 prompts on five platforms daily for the same $99, SE Ranking and Ahrefs Brand Radar are the other SEO-suite routes, Otterly.ai and Peec AI are dedicated trackers from $29 and €85, Profound is the enterprise option, and Promvia (our product, so read that entry as the maker's account) adds a free plan, six default engines with no add-ons (Grok optional on paid plans) and AI traffic measured next to the answers.

Disclosure first

Promvia publishes this page and sells one of the tools on it. Every competitor figure below was read on that vendor's own pricing or help page on 22 October 2026 and is dated in its source line; our own entry is written to the same standard and says where we fall short. Prices change, so follow the source link before you buy.

What the Semrush toolkit gives you for $99

The toolkit's case is the suite around it. Prompt Tracking sits next to Semrush's keyword, audit and position data, its Prompt Research report draws on a database of more than 317 million prompts and responses, and Brand Performance reads sentiment and share of voice for one domain. If your team already lives in Semrush, adding a tab costs less than adopting a vendor, and that is a fair reason to stay.

When an alternative makes sense

  • Your question list is longer than 25. At $60 per 50 extra prompts the toolkit stays usable, but a tool built around prompts may hold several times as many for the same money.
  • You want several engines per question. Semrush sets each Prompt Tracking campaign to one engine, so comparing ChatGPT with Gemini on the same question means a campaign per engine.
  • You do not use the rest of Semrush. Without the suite, you are paying suite prices for a 25-prompt tracker.
  • You want to try before paying. The toolkit has no free trial; several alternatives below offer a trial or a free plan.

The alternatives, by need

SE Visible is the closest like-for-like swap at the same price, and has the lowest price per prompt of the plans we read, in face value: SE Ranking's standalone AI product counts a prompt once across five platforms and checks all of them every day. It says it collects answers through a browser rather than an API.

SE Ranking itself is the suite-for-suite swap: rank tracking, audits and backlink research with a prompt allowance included, and a 14-day trial that needs no card.

Ahrefs Brand Radar is the other suite route, and the one with the largest ready-made prompt index. If you already pay for Ahrefs, a small daily prompt quota is included; on its own, you buy checks. Our Ahrefs Brand Radar alternatives page covers it in full.

Otterly.ai is the low-cost dedicated tracker: four platforms daily from the cheapest plan, with Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode sold as add-ons, so price it with the engines you want.

Peec AI is the pick for analytics depth: sentiment, position, source classification, AI Shopping at product level and log connectors, with unlimited users on every plan. Each plan tracks three models you choose; more models cost extra.

Profound is the enterprise end: custom pricing, a sales process and the broadest engine menu. It belongs on the list if you have many markets and a security review; it has no self-serve paid plan to compare with the toolkit's $99.

Where Promvia fits — full disclosure: this is our product

Promvia is a dedicated tracker, not an SEO suite. Every paid plan asks the six default engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, with Grok as an option) through each provider's API with web search on, with no engine add-ons; each language model is asked twice per check by default; every rate shows its sample size and a 95% interval; and every URL an answer cited is stored. A one-line snippet on every plan, Free included, records the visits AI assistants send. Pro and Agency include an MCP server and an API, and the interface is in Turkish as well as English.

  • Free: 1 site, 5 tracked questions on Perplexity, checked automatically once a month.
  • Starter, €49 a month: 1 site, 25 questions, a weekly check on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini plus a check every 3 days on 10 priority questions; every default engine on demand.
  • Pro, €179 a month: 5 sites, 100 questions, daily on Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, weekly on ChatGPT and Claude.
  • Agency, €499 a month: 15 sites, 250 questions, the same schedule, white-label reports.

Those are the list prices on our pricing page on 22 October 2026, in euros excluding VAT. Paid checkout is not open yet on 22 October 2026; the free plan works today.

Where Semrush or another tool is the better pick, plainly: Semrush has the SEO suite, a prompt database and region coverage we do not have; Promvia Starter costs €1.96 per question, against $3.96 for the toolkit and $0.50 for SE Visible (different currencies, not converted), and it checks weekly where Semrush, SE Visible, Otterly.ai and Peec AI check daily; ChatGPT and Claude run weekly even on our Pro and Agency plans; and we do not measure Microsoft Copilot today. Our pricing comparison puts every plan on the same units.

How to choose in 30 minutes

  • Write down your 10 realest buyer questions: what customers type, not your brand name.
  • Decide whether you need the suite. If your team uses Semrush daily, the toolkit's integration is worth something; if not, compare dedicated trackers on price per prompt.
  • Price each shortlisted plan with exactly the engines your buyers use, add-ons included, and note whether it checks daily or weekly.
  • Run the same 10 questions through two tools' trials or free plans on the same day and compare what each recorded, not the demo.
  • Ignore any vendor who promises a placement: no tool can guarantee one, ours included.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit cost?

$99 a month for 25 tracked prompts, according to Semrush's help article read on 22 October 2026; 50 more prompts cost $60 a month. Semrush's pricing page showed the same plan at €94.94 a month to a visitor in Europe. The toolkit has no free trial.

Which engines does Semrush's Prompt Tracking cover?

Its Prompt Tracking article lets you set each campaign to ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode or Gemini; its data article also names Google AI Overviews. The pricing page lists mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity across the toolkit's reports.

What is the cheapest alternative to the Semrush toolkit?

Per prompt, SE Visible: $99 a month for 200 prompts on five platforms checked daily, read on 22 October 2026. For the lowest monthly bill, Otterly.ai Lite at $29 for 15 prompts, or a free plan such as Promvia's (ours: one site, five questions on Perplexity, checked automatically once a month).

Can I keep Semrush and add a dedicated tracker?

Yes. Prompt lists are plain text, so the same questions can run in Semrush and in a second tool. Many teams keep the suite for keywords and audits and use a dedicated tracker for more engines or more questions.
